On my fourteenth birthday, I was promised to a very wealthy man… A domineering man. A powerful man. On that day, the first of two transactions were made with my very unloving parents.
I became his possession.
Something to own.
Something to keep.
An object intended only for his desire, his pleasure, and his … indulgence.
Although promised to this man, I at least remained safe … untouched … pure. I was to be his and his alone.
On my eighteenth birthday, the second transaction took place.
But he came for me.
Now, I’m his. He owns my body and my soul.
And, as if all of that wasn’t enough, he wants to own my heart too.
I’m trying to resist him—trying to fight that irresistible monster inside of him. But, as with everything else in my life, nothing is ever that easy.

🌟🌟🌟 REVIEW by Leanne
Ok, hang on in there for a while. I’m going to use a really weird analogy and some people may just think I’ve gone bonkers..
You know your kids, or dogs or cats or whatever? You know sometimes you look at them and thank God for what he gave you. You love them with all your heart and although they sometimes do naughty stuff there’s nothing they could do to make you love them less.
Then 2 minutes later you want to hit them around the head with a shovel and tell them to go bleep themselves and you ask God what the hell he thought he was doing, giving you those little aholes.
I wouldn’t necessarily call this a dark read. It is depravity. It is rape. It is dominance and ownership and chillingly, morally vile on so many levels. It is the worst kind of spousal abuse. The stuff made from nightmares.
There are so many reasons not to read this book…all those above as well as 2 main characters that are hard to connect to. A storyline that makes you sick to stomach.
But for all the bad, there are moments of light. Despite his darkside, I actually quite like Drake by the end. Odd I know considering he’s manipulative and abusive but there’s just something about him that makes me want to like him.
As always, Jaimie’s words carry you away to this messed up world and have you feeling the emotions and hearing the screams.
Honestly though, I can easily say this is not Jamie’s finest work. Nowhere near it in fact. BUT if you like your fiction on the taboo side of dark then this is the book for you.
