SYNOPSIS:

Land. Power. Influence. Mary O’Malley knows these are the only things that matter in her war-torn country. Determined to win back her ancestral home, she must embark on a journey across the Atlantic disguised as a cabin boy. But her ruse brings her under the control of a dangerous sea captain who demands from her the one thing she will never give—complete and total submission.

Captain Richard Grant runs a tight ship, and he didn’t claw his way up through the ranks of the Royal Navy to be undone by a headstrong Irish girl hell-bent on jeopardizing his mission and his crew. If she insists on dressing like a man, then she can take his punishments. He demands obedience, but his insatiable need for her leads to a complex game of sex, desire, and dominance not even he can control.

Awakened by the passion Grant stirs in her, Mary finds herself falling for the stern captain. But when her false identity leads to rumors of her spying for the French, she must choose between her love for Ireland and the man who commands her body—and her heart.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 REVIEW by Katie

First I loved that the main character was a heroine and second that it featured rather sexy sounding Captain!! I love historical romance stories so as soon as I read the synopsis I was eager to start!
I loved the setting for the story and the plot. It was totally unique and this made the story even more enjoyable for me! I loved the characters – Mary was great! I loved her feistiness and they was she wasn’t afraid to go for what she wanted – even if it didn’t always go the way she wanted anticipated. Captain Richard Grant was so sexy!! He also had a past that was great to read about in the book. He was certainly sexy and dominating but also showed a gentle side sometimes towards Mary.
We start the story in Ireland where Mary is trying to get her ancestral home back. She embarks on a journey disguised as a ‘cabin boy’ except she doesn’t realise she will end up on a ship with a Captain who not only discovers who she is but in turn wants her total submission.
I haven’t previously read anything by this author and I can’t wait to read more of her work. The descriptive writing in the story was great, I could imagine what I was reading and felt like I was on that ship with them! There were some great twists to the story that I wasn’t expecting. Some of the scenes between him and Mary were HOT!!! I loved reading about Mary and Richard’s journey! I definitely recommend it!
